I use to struggle a lot and get mixed grades depending on the subject,
from A’s to D’s. Learning how to learn changed everything. Now I
consistently get A's in all my classes and actually understand how I
got there. I also don’t fight with my parents about school anymore,
which is pretty great.

Tutoring is a band-aid solution. It helps with today’s homework or tomorrow’s test but
doesn’t give students the core skills needed for lifelong learning success.
Learning Specialists and academic support professionals do incredible work with students.
They don’t have the tools to scale effective, data-driven skills development to diverse learners.
It’s 2025 and students still aren’t taught how to learn.
Learning Management Systems like Google Classroom manage assignments and track grades.
They don’t build the skills needed for effective learning or increased self-efficacy.
Students can have outstanding teachers, tutors, and technology but without the ability to learn
effectively, they will not reach their full potential. There has been no structured solution to
develop or assess students' learning skills at scale — until now.
Teachers deliver curricular content. Constraints on time and resources leave little room for
explicitly or systematically building students’ learning skills.
The Komo Difference
Komo uses your existing curriculum to explicitly and systematically build students’ skills
including time management, executive functioning, self-motivation and resourcefulness.
Our approach is rooted in rigorous pedagogy that integrates best practices from education,
psychology, neuroscience and executive coaching to deliver measurable results.
Gain data-driven insights into the skills students use to do their homework, bridging critical
gaps between classroom teaching and independent learning.
Automate the process of effective, equitable, evidence-based skill-building.
Improve students' abilities to learn effectively in the classroom and at home.
Increase levels of achievement and self-efficacy in all subjects.

Komo was born from personal experience. As a student, I was failing
classes despite endless tutoring and support. Like many students
today, I started to believe I just wasn't smart enough.
Then I discovered HOW to learn. Suddenly, I could understand what
was being taught. My grades improved. More importantly, my
confidence soared. I went from failing classes to becoming an AP
Scholar with Honor, scoring in the 99th percentile on the SAT/ACT, and
earning over $100,000 in scholarships.
But this wasn't just about grades. I discovered that with the right
learning skills, any student could thrive. This led me to start my career
with Ontario’s Ministry of Education, where I was shocked to discover:
no one was systematically building or measuring students' learning
capabilities.

students' learning journeys, I knew we needed a scalable solution. That's why I built Komo - to give
every student the skills they need to succeed, not just in school, but in life.

Our Mission
We’re on a mission to embed world-class skills development into the
educational journey of every learner.
We’ve witnessed the transformative power of skill-building. We believe that skills are key to
unlocking human potential. This is why we’re building the world’s first scalable skill-building
solution: to create a world in which every student has the skills to
- succeed to their full potential in school and life.
The skills gap costs students the opportunity to succeed to their full
potential, and disproportionately affects individuals from marginalized
communities.
80% of high school graduates are not prepared for university, while less than half of employers believe that new hires have the skills to succeed in the workforce. On a global level, the IMF estimates that 2/3 of the world’s youth lack basic skills.
